The blogmaster is an idiot

Sam's itinerary for the last quarter of 2009 was packed, but he fell victim to the untimely loss of months of data due to a server failure at the blogmaster's mobile telephone provider. The times and dates of Sam's live, recorded, or filmed stand-up and improvisational comedy performances are being reconstructed from social networks, voice and email, printed materials, and handwritten notes. Any new stuff is posted as it is discovered.

The end-of-the-year for Sam included stand-up dates in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Kansas. He performed game and long form improvisation with a number of groups at the Bovine Metropolis. Sam was interviewed and appeared several times in studio and on site for internet and terrestrial radio stations based in Denver and Vail. He acted in projects for Starz, The Shoot Out 24 Hour Filmmaking Festival Boulder, and Twixter Productions. Sam also played drums in Red vs. Black and crept closer to an undergraduate degree at Metro State College.

Agreeable Feelings at the Impulse Theater

Agreeable Feelings performs tonight at AfterMass, "Denver's Newest Open-Stage Variety Show." Aftermass is the first Sunday of every month except December. The details per Impulse Theater website:

Competing tonight in Round 1 of the Funny Final Four Comedic Team Tournament with the Jake Sharon-led crew, Agreeable Feelings (Sam and Roger Norquist) "...killed. [The team] probably moved on to [the] next round. [Agreeable Feelings] used [an] overhead projector to diagram hell [and] compare Jesus and Satan" in the biblically themed show.

"Next Monday, come and see twelve of the most comedic comedians in Denver perform for a chance to win...uhhh....what do we win?....Nothing?! Ah fuc% this!"

Sketchy details, but Sam will do standup, and perform with Agreeable Feelings and as a member of a comedic team hosted by Jake "Jesus of Denver" Sharon in the Funny Final 4 competition at the Comedy Works Downtown.

Apparently Sam had a marvelous set with a group named after a license plate this evening at the Bovine Metropolis's Improv Hootenanny! During the last 7 years, almost every improv group in Colorado has played at the Hoot and is a bargain at $5 (Mondays / 7:30 p.m.).

Club Sensationzz @ 24-Hour Improv-a-thon tonight

Cast members Sam and Galloway Allbright will rush from the opening night of Iraq War, the Musical! to perform two sets as Club Sensationzz at the 24 Improv-a-thon hosted by SanScript Players at the Bovine Metropolis Theater (10 p.m. and 11 ish: be flexible / $8). The “Thon” benefits Family Tree and runs from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Convention?

Tonight's primary was set in Albuquerque's Geronimo Center with Terry Brewer (Sam) dodging questions about his wife/candidate's rumored pregnancy and an alleged groping incident in Kansas.

(It was reported that two local entertainment reviewers were in attendance. No one had the skinny regarding which publication.)

Club Sensationzz's new gig

Bovine Metropolis Theater announced that the revamped Club Sensationzz, (Sam and Galloway Albright), has been given a primo, recurring spot in their summer lineup of shows. "An Evening With Club Sensationzz: The Talk Show!" runs every Friday in August (10:15 pm / $10) with a new gaggle of guests each week. It's a killer format.

Convention?

Convention?, is the best show about a fake presidential campaign you'll ever see. It’s a behind-the-scenes glimpse into a fictional presidential nomination campaign. Sam portrays Terry Brewer, the husband and campaign manager of candidate Sandy Brewer.

After tonight performance, only 14 shows remain, so bring a friend (renting space is not cheap) each and every Tuesday to the Avenue Theater (7:30 pm / $10 and includes one free drink).
