For the month of August, you can see Convention? on Tuesdays at the Avenue Theater (7:30 pm / $10 and a free drink) and Wednesdays at the Bovine Metropolis Theater (7:30 pm / $8).

Sam's ankle is on the mend. He appeared in tonight's primary in a Robo Cop-esque walking boot/cast on one crutch (Convention? at Avenue Theater / Tuesdays / 7:30 p.m. / $10 admission gets you one free drink).

Sam returns to Convention?

Not precisely a FDR take on the current political scene, but Sam will appear in a wheelchair, his wizened legs covered with a blanket, for this evening's primary (Convention? at Avenue Theater / Tuesdays / 7:30 p.m. / $10 admission gets you one free drink).

Sam is questionable for Convention? this evening

Sam is convalescing after breaking his ankle early last night attempting to buy food from Taco Bell. Really. No lawsuit is pending unless you can bring suit against yourself for being a klutz. While he's mulling an appearance, it would fly in the face of common sense and doctor's orders (7 to 10 days of foot elevation; visit the orthopedist). We are, however, dealing with Sam.

Convention?

Tonight's primary was set in Albuquerque's Geronimo Center with Terry Brewer (Sam) dodging questions about his wife/candidate's rumored pregnancy and an alleged groping incident in Kansas.

(It was reported that two local entertainment reviewers were in attendance. No one had the skinny regarding which publication.)

Convention?

Convention?, is the best show about a fake presidential campaign you'll ever see. It’s a behind-the-scenes glimpse into a fictional presidential nomination campaign. Sam portrays Terry Brewer, the husband and campaign manager of candidate Sandy Brewer.

After tonight performance, only 14 shows remain, so bring a friend (renting space is not cheap) each and every Tuesday to the Avenue Theater (7:30 pm / $10 and includes one free drink).

Play[word] opened for New York's Johnny Lunchpail at the Avenue Theater on the second night of Denver Improv Festival performances. Killer sets by both groups. An exceptional night of improv.

The life and times of rock and roller, Johnny Champagne, was examined tonight with eerie precision by Club Sensationzzz at their "second Wednesday of the month" sketch comedy show at the prestigious Avenue Theater.

Denver Improv Festival, October 11-14

Play[word] was selected to perform in the Denver Improv Festival and will open for NYC's Johnny Lunchpail at the Avenue Theater on Friday, October 12 (9:30 p.m. / $20).

Club Sensationzzz! Avenue Theater! Tonight!

Club Sensationzzz (Sam, Galloway Allbright; Ryan Mattingly) perform an all new sketch comedy show this evening beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Avenue Theater. Because of the exuberant response to July's show, Club Sensationzzz is now part of the Avenue's Wednesday Night Series. So grab somebody and fill the seats to keep the owners happy. Club Sensationzzz at Avenue Theater

A hip and energetic crowd were wowed by Club Sensationzzz at their inaugural show at the Avenue Theater last night. In addition to performing, Sam, Galloway Allbright and Ryan Mattingly co-wrote, -produced and -directed the 90 minute sketch comedy show. No official word yet, but Sam's hopeful last night's enthusiastic audience response will convince the owners to give CS a recurring spot at the Avenue the second Wednesday of each month. Delightful.

Club Sensationzzz scores new gig

Club Sensationzzz (Sam, Galloway Allbright; Ryan Mattingly) will produce and perform their new sketch comedy show at the Avenue Theater on Wednesday, July 11 at 7:30 p.m. If all goes well (i.e., the loyal supporters of all things Sam fill the seats, applaud early and often, thus impressing the club owners of their drawing power) they'll become part of the Avenue's stellar Wednesday Night Series. Radio Avenue

Today members of the Bovine Metropolis's Acme Comedy Players performed at the Avenue Theater reprising many of the torch songs from Cows on a Plane. The recorded proceedings, Radio Avenue, will be broadcast Monday, May 7th at 8:00 p.m. on KGNU community radio and forever online.
